Marjorie “Marge” T. Kelly (Wegner) was born on December 17, 1931 in West Point, Nebraska. She was the oldest of eleven children born to Frank Sr. and Clara (Moody) Toelle. She was raised on a farm outside of West Point and graduated from high school in 1950. Marge was active in Cumming County 4-H growing up and showed cattle and sheep.

She married Dwane Wegner on June 24, 1951. To this union three children were born, Kathy, Danny and Cherie. The family moved from West Point to Lincoln in 1960. Dwane and Marge were founding partners of Town and Country Real Estate. Marge also worked for the Lancaster County Election office and retired from there in the 1980’s. She later worked for LARC, GAB and part time at Rachel’s Boutique. She was active in her children’s activities including 4-H and East High band boosters, and loved to play bridge. Marge married Harold Kelly in August of 1986.

Marge’s extended family was always very important to her and she often said that she, “raised two families, my brothers and sisters and my own children”. Thanksgiving, Christmas, graduations and weddings were always special days for Marge because the family was all together. Her mother taught her how to cook and bake at a young age, and Marge’s pies, cookies and pot roast were second to none. Cooking was a labor of love for Marge and most family get-togethers revolved around a special meal.

Marge traveled with her sisters to the casinos in Council Bluffs. Travelled with her granddaughter to Disneyland. She also enjoyed “Girl’s Weekends” with her daughters, granddaughter Kristin and daughter-in-law Donna to Branson, Missouri and Des Moines, Iowa. Shopping and exploring new restaurants were always fun-especially if she could try a new dessert that included ice cream!

Marge moved to the Legacy Estates in May 2016. She continued to host birthday and holiday dinners for her family even in a smaller apartment. Watching Husker football always kept her busy on Saturday afternoons from September to January.

Marge entered her Eternal Home on May 21st, 2020 at the age of 88 years, 5 months and 4 days. She leaves to mourn her passing daughters Kathy Brumbaugh of Fremont, Cherie (Brent) Travis of Lincoln, granddaughters Kristin Wegner, Stacy Travis and Kimberly Olivera of Lincoln, and daughter-in-law Donna Wegner Schoenfeld of Urbandale, Iowa. She is also survived by: sisters Liz Diers, Joan Anderson and Doris Johnson all of Fremont; sisters Angie Mandel of Dodge, Rosie (Art) Hasemann of West Point and Darlene (Larry) Pabian of Omaha; one brother, Jim Toelle of Fremont and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank, Sr. and Clara Toelle, her husbands Dwane Wegner and Harold Kelly, her son Dan Wegner, brothers Frank Toelle, Jr.. and Dwayne Toelle, sister Sally Wordekemper and two nieces.
