Mathew Richard Kyle, 21, of Tuscon, Arizona died May 19, 2019 as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born January 3rd, 1998 in Hastings, Nebraska to Heather Kyle and Kristopher Steiger.
He attended Lincoln East High School and then Southeast Community College for a short time prior to joining the US Air Force in November of 2016. Airman 1st Class Kyle was then stationed at Sheppard Airforce Base in Wichita Falls, Texas for a year where and had become certified in Avionics. He was then stationed at Davis-Monthan Airforce Base in Tucson, where he worked in Fuel Systems Maintenance. He was working towards an Associate’s Degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology at the Community College of the Airforce. For the long-term, Mathew was interested in pursuing one of many careers such as becoming a medical doctor and then returning to the military, becoming an officer, a pilot, and others.
Mathew was a loving and kind person that was always willing to help a stranger. He was quick to laugh and to make others laugh with him. Mathew loved fast cars and motorcycles; especially Corvettes and street bikes. He enjoyed working on his own cars and bikes. He loved riding up the peaceful mountainside; either alone, with his many Airforce buddies, or with his extensive riding club. He loved animals and enjoyed taking his two dogs in Arizona for runs. He also enjoyed building his own guns and target practicing, gaming, watching Netflix and Hulu series, and making You Tube videos.
He is survived by his parents; Heather Kyle of Lincoln and Kristopher Steiger of Hastings, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his Uncle; Ron Kyle, and Grandparents; Richard and Noreen Kent.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Lincoln.
Visitation will be at Wyuka Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 P.M.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Natural Resources and Defense Council.
