Jerry L. Irwin, 82, of Lincoln passed away on February 10, 2022, in Lincoln.
Jerry Irwin was born on December 21st, 1939, in Table Rock, Nebraska to Arthur and Velma Irwin. Jerry graduated from Grand Island Senior High School and served in the United States Navy, before becoming a police officer. He served on the Boys Town Police Department and the O’Neill Police Department.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and Grandchildren Zachary and Lylah Irwin.
Jerry is survived by his Beloved Wife Geraldine Irwin; his Children Shannon (Eldon) Nyhoff and Kevin (Rebekah) Irwin; his two favorite Grandchildren Dylan Nyhoff and Madison Irwin; Brothers Robert Irwin and David (Gayle) Irwin; Sisters Sandra Jacobsen and Beth (Bob) Powers, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jerry enjoyed his retirement by golfing, attending Dylan’s plays, and watching Madison’s softball games. Most of all he enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. Jerry was a kind and generous soul who would do anything for anyone. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held from 9-10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Wyuka Funeral Home with the Funeral beginning at 10. Pastor Kerry O’Bryant is officiating. Burial will follow at Wyuka Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in care of the family to be designated later.
